No one ever went broke underestimating the American people, someone once said, and to the extent that is true this ad might be effective. I was torn between appalled and second guessing how the so-called "average" American might respond. This is an election where being "average" is apparently considered a Presidential qualification. Once we tried to get as above-average Presidents as we could. Then, someone who preached Palin's doctrine whose daughter got pregnant while she was governor, to a coarse guy who boasted about it, would raise enough questions about sincerity and effectiveness to be ruled out. Not condemned, but ruled out as qualified for the Presidency. Where are we now, when she can lie about the bridge to nowhere?

If that's the best they can do they're going to get killed. That ad is awful.

I have 26 years of active military service and experience. I have three stars on my Viet Nam Service Medal. I'm no more qualified to be President than John McCain.
Give it a break here people, It isn't what you did, it's what your potential is!

This ad make me want to puke. Obama doesn't love America. He hates it and everything it stands for.

It's not that it's terrible so much; it's dishonest. What does this man really believe in? Whatever political consultants and Madison Avenue tell him to.

What a crock. Obama moves to the middle from the far left. Now he loves his country? What happened to the no flag pin?

This RNC ad is among the worst I've ever seen. if this is what the Repubs are going to put out this cycle McCain is going to lose by 20 points.

This is a weak ad - first of all, the man is not dressed right. He is too fat to dress in that fashion. He needs to lose weight. Secondly, his comments are irrelevant - no one cares about his family at this point. The voters are tired of being ripped off, of being lied to and the fact that politicians have not outlawed big money earnings by Congressmen, nor have they outlawed lobbies - its just more of the same. Take a big black crayon and draw a line on paper -all those above the line are the wealthy, all those below are poor. The govt is destroying middle class from their greed - Nafta, Cafta, you name it - the middle class is being eradicated. Who cares about this idealistic man running for office? His ad is totally ineffective. Voters want to see something substancial but nothing negative, please.

This does not totally overjoy me but at least its not irritating and negative. I am sick of hearing those obnoxious irritating ads and personally feel the way Hillary conducted her campaign is a good reason why Obama is the winner. She played dirty - most intelligent people are aware of the dirt - most support Obama for that reason. Hillary's base was mostly uneducated women and blue collar workers who are racist.
