Ira H. Schlezinger Consultant
Ira Schlezinger is a nationally recognized leader in the field of healthcare
planning, marketing, and strategic communications. Programs implemented by
Schlezinger throughout his career have not only garnered awards and respect,
but were instrumental in the financial turnaround of three hospital systems.
Schlezinger lead the charge in implementing programs that not only improve
patient satisfaction and preferences, but also foster morale among physicians
and employees providing care. His strategic marketing campaigns received numerous
regional and national awards for strengthening name recognition and patient
preference in three separate media markets.
Schlezinger was among the first in his field to recognize the need for an
integrated approach to healthcare communications and planning. His unique
strategies have since become the communications model for over 30 hospital
systems and healthcare organizations nationally.
Over the course of his career, Schlezinger served as the resident strategic
planning expert on numerous committees, boards, and physician groups. He also
lends his expertise to others as a strategic consultant specializing in planning,
team building, vision development and crisis intervention.
Schlezinger earned his bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University
in Columbus, Ohio. He also holds masters degrees in Public Administration
and Organizational Development from the University of Dayton and the University
of Tulsa, respectively. He is the past president of the American Hospital
Association's Society for Healthcare Planning and Marketing and received the
AHA's Corning Award for Planning Excellence.
