Low Approval Ratings for Congressional Democrat Leaders Presents an Opportunity
While Republicans have not been able to take the shine off of Barack Obama’s approval rating yet, the approval ratings of the Democratic Congressional leaders has begun to suffer.
According to a new public poll in the Las Vegas Review Journal, Harry Reid’s favorability among voters in his home state of Nevada is upside down. Fifty percent of Nevada voters have an unfavorable view of Reid, while 38 percent had a favorable view of the Democratic Senate Leader.
Moreover, Nancy Pelosi has similarly low approval ratings. Acording to a CNN/Opinion Reasearch poll, nearly half of all Americans (48%) disapprove of the job Peosi is doing as Speaker of the House while 39 percent approve of her performance.
What does this mean? It means that a Republicans now run even with Democrats in the generic ballot after trailing in both 2006 and 2008.
